Plug&Charge
EV charging that couldn't be any simpler
Plug&Charge allows Kia EV drivers to seamlessly access a growing network of fast, power-ready public charging stations. Offering a fully automated authentification process, there's no additional identification or intermediate steps required. Simply plug in and power up using a state-of-the-art charging platform that's secure and convenient.

AC household charging
Fast charging (AC)
The fastest public charging method, providing power above 50kW. It can charge an EV battery from 20 to 80% in approximately 40 minutes. Ultra-fast charging stations offering more than 150kW are also available.
EV tyres with a material difference
In order to adapt to the instant output provided by an EV powertrain, Kia electric vehicles are equipped with specially engineered foam tyres. This enables better durability to handle the increased torque, and superior rolling resistance to maximise range.

Front air curtain
The EV9's front air curtain ingeniously directs air along the wheel arches, significantly reducing air resistance. This feature not only enhances the vehicle's aerodynamic efficiency but also contributes to a smoother, more stable drive.
Active air flap
An electronically-controlled component located behind the lower front grille. The active air flap plays a dual role, cooling vital vehicle parts and improving energy efficiency by guiding airflow, actively opening or closing when needed.
Undercarriage design
Kia's reimagined undercarriage design optimises airflow under the vehicle. The strategic convex shape in front of the battery and concave shape behind it prevent air cushion formation, thereby boosting aerodynamic efficiency.

Regenerative braking
The EV9's regenerative braking system reduces reliance on mechanical brakes, keeping them cooler and allowing for more aerodynamic wheel designs. This integration of regenerative braking enhances overall energy efficiency.
Door handles
Redesigned for sleekness, the EV9's door handles reduce air resistance thanks to an auto-flush and slide out design activated with a Smart Key, Digital Key, or via the Kia Connect App, merging functionality with aerodynamic design.
