Kia's Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) heralds a significant advancement in electric vehicle innovation. It's a dedicated platform specifically designed for EVs, encompassing the vehicle's chassis, battery, motor, and Power Electric system. Collectively, these serve as the foundation for a whole host of benefits — that come together to create a EV experience like no other.

Plug&Charge

EV charging that couldn't be any simpler

Plug&Charge allows Kia EV drivers to seamlessly access a growing network of fast, power-ready public charging stations. Offering a fully automated authentification process, there's no additional identification or intermediate steps required. Simply plug in and power up using a state-of-the-art charging platform that's secure and convenient.

Kia EVs are supported by a number of charge types that vary in speed of power transfer depending on your needs. From ultra-fast charging out on the road, to slower overnight solutions available in the convenience of your own home, find out how they compare:

AC household charging

Most home charging points provide a more relaxed charging rate of 3 to 7 kW that is still 3-4 times faster than standard 220V 'trickle' charging. Ideal for overnight charging, it takes about 6 hours to fully charge a 40 kWh battery.

Fast charging (AC)

The fastest public charging method, providing power above 50kW. It can charge an EV battery from 20 to 80% in approximately 40 minutes. Ultra-fast charging stations offering more than 150kW are also available.

EV tyres with a material difference

In order to adapt to the instant output provided by an EV powertrain, Kia electric vehicles are equipped with specially engineered foam tyres. This enables better durability to handle the increased torque, and superior rolling resistance to maximise range.
